Polybenzimidazole (PBI) is a non-crystalline, high-performance engineering plastic. In terms of heat resistance, PBI remains being the best performance in the engineering composite materials.

The characteristics of PBI are as follows:

Thermal Properties:

  • Glass Transition Temperature: 418 ℃

  • Heat Deflection Temperature: 435 ℃

  • Thermal Decomposition Temperature: Higher than 600 ℃

  • Continuous Operating Temperature: It can resist up to 400 ℃, and at the short moment, it can resist up to 540 ℃.

PBI also has excellent thermal stability, even in the high temperature condition, the dimension remains stable.

Physical and Chemical Properties:
Wear-resistant, high rigidity and anti-corrosion to most chemicals. It meets the flammability standard (UL94 V-0). It is one of the engineering plastic that has the highest mechanical properties at 205 ℃. PBI also has the characteristics of anti-radiation.

Electrical Properties:
PBI has the features of excellent insulation and anti-static (ESD grade).
